Message from: Interim Principal

Greetings OSA Community,

The first week of the school year has been a great success! Our team has worked tirelessly throughout the summer to make the 19-20 school year the best one yet in OSA’s 17 year history. With a new bell schedule, the introduction of our advisory program, expanded course options, many new teachers, and a fresh coat of paint in the hallways, it is clear that this hard work has paid off.  Energy and enthusiasm are at an all time high as our 800 students shuffle excitedly through the building between arts, academics, and advisory. Our theme this year is “If You Knew My Story…” and we are committed to supporting each and every one of our students as they develop both artistically and academically in such a way that best enables them to share their stories with the world. I feel fortunate everyday to be part of this amazing community and I greatly look forward to seeing the many successes that the 19-20 school year brings our way.

With Gratitude,
Mike Oz
Interim Principal
Oakland School for the Arts
