OSA Annual Fund UPDATE

******DONATE TODAY!******

Hello OSA!

We are on a roll! More participation, more money raised and we are just about halfway to meeting our $500,000 goal.

Together, we have raised $231,123 with 27% school-wide participation. This is almost twice where we were last year at this time! THANK YOU for making a gift to the Annual Fund. The earlier you make your gift, the sooner we can put those funds into action for our students.

This year, OSA is asking for a tax-deductible gift of $2,250 per student to bridge the gap between state and local funding and what is needed to support your student’s education. But, every gift of any amount makes a difference!

Ways to Give:

  • Recurring Gift: Please consider meeting the per student ask with a monthly gift of $250 to support your student’s 60+ hours per month of arts programming and our stellar faculty. If this gift is not possible, even $25/month goes a long way.
  • One Time Gift: (Checks preferred, or online).
  • Matching: Click here to find out if your company offers a Matching Gifts program.

Weekly Announcements

Homecoming Court: The 2018 Homecoming Committee would like to clarify some of the confusion regarding the Homecoming Court for this year’s Homecoming. We first would like to apologize for the confusion and hope this can clear things up for you! First, the new FINAL positions in this year’s court are King & Queen (only open to Seniors), Prince & Princess (only open to Juniors), Duke & Duchess (only open to Sophomores), and Lord & Lady (only open to Freshman). All roles are still colorblind (meaning open to anyone of any background). Due to the change, we will need all interested participants to re-sign up outside of Mr. Oz’s office no later than October 30. Students can see HS Secretary Leon Jones Jr. with any questions.

Homecoming: Homecoming tickets are beginning to sell out! Ticket(s) can be purchased for $15 either at lunch with any HS Student Council Member or now ONLINE at www.oakarts.tix.com! We also have limited sale of VIP tickets, which include the perks of a laminated pass, early entrance to the dance, extra raffle tickets for Cirque de Soleil, a $10 Starbucks card, and a goody bag.

Yearbook: The 10% discount on the yearbook will end next week so please make sure you take out the time to purchase it at the discounted price. Also, if anyone has any appropriate images to be considered for this yearbook of events or anything OSA-related, just send them to yearbook@students.oakarts.org to be seen and possibly put in the yearbook!

BAStA: Student activists are invited to stop by BAStA (Bay Area Student Activist) Club to hear about some amazing upcoming events! We meet Wednesdays in Room 205 (aka Ms .Tolliver’s Room)!

Global Glimpse Applicants: There is a mandatory parent orientation on November 7 at 6:00 pm here at OSA. Students should attend with their parents. This orientation is mandatory. Students who do not attend the orientation will not be accepted. In case of a time conflict on that day, please talk to Ms. Schleimer. She will be able to tell you about dates for orientations at other schools.

Womxn of Color Club is meeting Fridays at lunch in Room 302.
