Reflection and Looking Forward: OSA 2017/18 Annual Report

Now in its 17th year, OSA remains a dedicated force for arts education in the heart of downtown Oakland, providing abundant opportunities for learning, expression, and creativity for over 750 students.

Thanks to the exceptional commitment of our Board, faculty, staff, families, and donors, OSA is among the most extraordinary public art schools in the country.

As we approach the New Year, please take a moment to enjoy our 2017/18 Annual Report. OSA is grateful for your part in our students’ successes and the momentum we now carry into the year ahead.

Thank you,

Brian Köhn
Executive Director
Oakland School for the Arts

OSA Intersession is a full-day immersion for all students and staff to depart the classroom environment and experience different communities through exploration, team building, art making, reflection and fun! These activities will help students learn more about their community, explore art and history, engage in new physical activities and develop or refine personal goals. All OSA students will participate in this event. Link to Intersession Catalog is here.

Using the sign-up link above, students can review ALL Intersession activities and sign up! There are FULL day and HALF day activities. If you select half day, you will participate in two sessions. What happens when beloved comic characters grow up? After the rabies-induced death of CB’s beloved beagle, CB questions the existence of an afterlife. His peers prove to be unhelpful, his best friend is burnt out, his sister has gone goth, his ex-girlfriend is institutionalized, and the rest of his friends are too inebriated.
