Non-students are $17 each. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 7:30 PM at the beautiful Dean Lesher center in Walnut Creek.
It’s the west coast premiere of James Beckel’s Concerto for Trombone with the composer as soloist, Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 7:30 PM. James A. Beckel, Jr. is a contemporary American composer and principal trombonist of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Beckel’s The Glass Bead Game: Concerto for Horn and Orchestra was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1997.
It’s somewhat convenient from the Walnut Creek BART station – maybe a 15 minute walk? If any student(s) would like a ride back I can give them a lift to BART immediately after the concert.
Also, if any T-bone (or other) student would like to see James Beckel practice with us the week before that could likely be arranged. (Actually, I believe the band might welcome a senior T-bone player on a regular basis, I know at times we’ve had some students.) If interested contact me directly.
As I recall, actually ordering the free tickets online was a little goofy. I did it last year for my kids, but I’ve forgotten the details. Again let me know and I can help.
